New Bedford Public Schools is seeking a full time High School Band Director. A qualified applicant will: be certified in MA, have experience leading a competition quality marching band, be passionate about teaching and developing student musicians, have the ability to recruit and retain band members and work well with colleagues, staff members and parents.
Other job duties will include directing Concert Band and teaching courses in the History of Popular Music. Other ensembles such as pep-band, winter percussion and pit orchestra for the musical are part of the position which includes an additional stipend.

The Church of the Pilgrimage (United Church of Chirst) seeks a skilled Organist for weekly worship service and choir rehearsal for September -June. Weekly service music includes a Prelude, a Postlude, three hymns and two choir anthems. The Organist is expected to work with the Ministers and the Director of Music/Choir Director to provide inspiring worship music for our congregation. Responsibilities include accompanying the adult choir during weekly Wednesday night rehearsals and one Sunday service. The organist is expected to be available for additional services on Christmas Eve, Easter and Maundy Thursday. Both Organ and piano skills are necessary, as well as the ability to play a diverse repertoire of organ and choral literature from Bach to Gospel. Summer Organist is currently a separate contract; additional income is likely through Weddings and Funerals &endash; approximately 30 a year, all independently contracted.

seeks a music director for summer theater program. Students ages 7-18 rehearse a musical play. Rehearsals are 6-10hrs/week in June and July. (Usually Mon/Thurs evenings and Sunday afternoons). Performances are last weekend in July. Salary is either hourly or flat stipend and is negotiable, based on experience. Ideal candidate loves children and their creativity, has experience with teaching singing parts for musicals and organizing/conducting pit musicians for orchestra (basic).

Thayer Middle School.......(Sabatical-position for 1 year) grade 6,7&8th grade music appreciation classes- 1 trimester each; they meet 3X a week for 10 weeks each= about 12 -15 classes a week
*vocal coach & accompany(opt) the Spring & Fall Middle School musical; one evening performance each; rehearsals are during school day 3X a week.
* direct the middle school choir - usually about 40 students from all three grades; in-school rehearsals 2X a week; 2 evening concerts: Winter (January) and Spring (May). One end of year daytime performance (graduation) in first week of June.
* maintain the private lesson program. I will set up the schedule initially in the fall. The program involves students taking piano, guitar & voice lessons during the day and the sub would be keeping them informed of lesson interruptions or cancellations due to assemblies, bell schedule changes, etc.
the school day is usually 7:45-2:15. the year: meetings end of August/classes start after labor day; 2 week December break; 2 week March break; year ends: first week in June.
