South Shore Conservatory, with campuses in Hingham and Duxbury Massachusetts, is seeking a Music Director/Conductor for the Bay Youth Symphony Program (BaYS). BaYS is an auditioned, sequential, three tiered, youth orchestra program, designed to create an opportunity for active and busy students, dedicated and talented young musicians living in communities throughout Southeastern Massachusetts, to perform symphonic music at a high level in a well-organized and supportive environment. The Bishop Feehan High School Performing Arts Department is seeking instructors for brass, woodwind and percussion for a brand new beginning band program set to begin in September 2010. The new Cadet Band program will start grade 5 & 6 students from the parochial schools that send many students to Bishop Feehan High School and other students from any area public school system that does not currently maintain an elementary and/or middle school band program. Each instructor will teach no more than 5 hours per week. Students will receive a weekly 50-minute group lesson. Lessons will take place at Bishop Feehan HS on Wednesdays between 4 and 9pm and will continue for 30 weeks through the school year ending in June 2011. Applicants should be talented, highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals who are eager to teach young band students through a positive learning environment and assist in building the future of this new band program. Percussion Instructor The East Bridgewater Music Department is in search of a qualified percussion instructor for the 2010-2011 Marching Band program. Duties will include rehearsing pre-scored music, writing a marching cadence, and light arrangements for select stands tunes. Knowledge in marching percussion, keyboard and auxiliary instruments is a must. Commitment will be Band Camp August 16-19, Wednesdays after Labor Day from 3pm-6pm, Friday night football games, and miscellaneous parades and exhibitions. Duties will include teaching basics, choreographing and teaching work for parades/ football games. Knowledge in dance is a must, and weapon is a bonus. The New Bedford Public Schools is seeking a full time Music Teacher to compliment our growing team of arts educators. This itinerant position is available at the elementary level for general music which will include chorus and possibly some instrumental group lessons. The position open due to a retirement.
